THE METHOD
体 BODY
Most people who quit jiu jitsu don’t quit the art — they quit the gym. The ego, the injuries, the war of attrition. Here, technique does the work. You train for decades, not until your body gives out.
心 MIND
Understanding why a technique works makes you evolve faster. The mat also reveals something deeper — your patterns, your reactions, your limits. Those who look, find more than jiu jitsu here.
魂 SPIRIT
Total presence. No hesitation, no force — just movement arising from stillness. This is where your best jiu jitsu lives, and where the art begins to speak through you.
Brazilian-born, living in Okinawa. Over 28 years teaching jiu jitsu in Brazil and Japan. Creator of the Flow Jiu Jitsu System — a method that unites martial art technique with Eastern philosophy, neuroscience, and the concept of flow state.
He trains. He writes. He teaches. Not as separate acts — as one continuous practice.
The most senior black belt in Okinawa. 28 years on the mat. 5th degree. Two books. One method.
A structured class built around the Flow Jiu Jitsu curriculum. Each session covers technique, concepts, and the reasoning behind the movement — so you don’t just learn what to do, but why it works.
The mat as a laboratory. Saturday mornings are dedicated to flow rolling, partner work, and putting concepts into practice in a relaxed, pressure-free environment.
A monthly deep-dive led by Helio Damiani Jr. Each seminar focuses on a specific theme — a position, a principle, or a chapter of the Flow Jiu Jitsu System. Open to members and visiting practitioners.
This Month · Side Control & Mount

QUESTIONS
Yes. The Foundations class is built from the ground up — no prior experience needed. The small class size (10 students maximum) means you get real attention from day one, not lost in a crowd.
The Flow method is built specifically around sustainable training. Technique replaces force; position replaces pressure. Students regularly tell us it's the first gym where they've trained consistently without injuries piling up.
Absolutely. Visiting practitioners are welcome. The Drop-in option (¥3,000/session) is designed exactly for this. Contact us before arriving to confirm the schedule fits your stay.
Most BJJ curricula focus on technique in isolation. The Flow System integrates flow state neuroscience, Zen philosophy, and Eastern martial principles into every movement — so you're not just learning what to do, but why it works, and what state of mind it requires. It's a practice, not a sport.
No. Classes are conducted in English (and Portuguese when needed). BJJ House Okinawa is welcoming to international practitioners — we regularly train with visitors from the US, Europe, Brazil, and across Asia.
